“Los niños son como pequeños insectos en un jardín”

“Children are like tiny insects in a blooming garden”

Infants (12–18 Months)

Hormiguitas (Little Ants)

Our Hormiguitas may be tiny, but they’re mighty! Just like ants exploring the garden for the first time, our youngest toddlers are full of curiosity and drive. At this age, they’re beginning to move with more purpose, observe routines, and engage with their environment in new ways. In our nurturing, play-based environment, Hormiguitas gain confidence through gentle routines, sensory-rich activities, and a joyful Spanish-immersion experience. Whether they’re cruising along furniture or imitating songs and motions, every moment supports early development in motor skills, language, and social awareness. Our teachers respond with warmth, hugs, and encouraging words, helping each child feel safe, seen, and valued. They follow each child’s cues and comfort needs, building trust and strong emotional bonds. With love, support, and consistent care, our little ants build the foundations of independence and community, just like a tiny colony working together as one.

TODDLERS (18–23 Months)

Mariquitas (Ladybugs)

Our Mariquitas may be small, but they’re full of wonder, energy, and delightful curiosity. Like little ladybugs fluttering through a garden, these older toddlers are gaining mobility, language, and a deeper desire to interact with the world around them. From scooping and sorting at sensory tables to discovering leaves and rocks on nature walks, every activity supports early learning in math, science, and fine motor skills. Inside the classroom, children explore puzzles, build with blocks, and engage in pretend play that sparks imagination and social connection. They participate in daily group time where they sing songs, listen to stories, and practice routines. Art, music, and hands-on materials invite them to express themselves while learning new vocabulary through playful repetition. Through these rich experiences, conversations unfold in Spanish—helping children acquire the language naturally, joyfully, and with meaningful connection. With love, structure, and a sense of wonder, our little ladybugs grow more confident each day, getting ready to spread their wings.

“En el jardín de la infancia, sembramos valores que florecen toda la vida.”

2-Year-Olds

Abejitas (Honeybees)

Our busy little Abejitas are always on the move—working hard, playing joyfully, and soaking up the world around them with wide-eyed excitement. Like honeybees buzzing in a blooming garden, our twos are full of energy, curiosity, and purpose.

Our Abejitas build, explore, and imagine each day using soft blocks, dress-up clothes, and sensory materials like water, sand, and nature treasures. In our warm, Spanish-immersive classroom, children are encouraged to express themselves through music, movement, storytelling, and open-ended art using natural and recycled materials. Throughout the day, our teachers lovingly guide social-emotional development, helping children navigate big feelings, practice kindness, and build friendships. Each week, our Abejitas take nature walks, especially to our school’s garden beds, where they observe, touch, and explore the beauty of the natural world around them. With every playful experience, our Abejitas are laying the foundation for bilingualism, independence, and a lifelong love of learning, one sweet moment at a time.

Preschoolers

Oruguitas (Caterpillars)

Our preschool class is filled with little caterpillars—moving, wiggling, and learning every day as they are immersed in Spanish through a nurturing, play-based environment. Open-ended play is at the heart of our classroom, where children are empowered to make choices, take initiative, and express themselves through art, song, and imaginative play. Teachers actively participate in both play and teacher guided activities, modeling conversations in Spanish, encouraging engagement, and asking thoughtful questions to help children reflect on their experiences. Our teachers understand that little hearts have BIG feelings and build strong connections with each child by supporting emotional growth—helping them name their emotions, navigate social situations, and practice empathy. Daily garden walks further extend learning, with teachers guiding discovery through engaging, hands-on experiences that encourage children to explore and talk about weather, nature, and change. Every moment is filled with opportunities for connection, bilingual discovery, and joyful growth.

Pre-Kindergarteners

Maripositas (Butterflies)

In our 4-year-old class, we begin to see our little caterpillars emerge from their chrysalis and blossom into confident, curious butterflies. This is a transformative year where language acquisition in Spanish becomes more evident, as children begin expressing themselves with greater clarity and purpose.

Aligned with the Texas Pre-K Guidelines, we build strong foundations in math and literacy through hands-on exploration with manipulatives, sensory play, and guided discovery. Letter names and sounds in Spanish are introduced through music, art, and playful clapping games. Children don’t just listen to songs, they sing, move, and connect with rhythm and meaning. Dramatic play comes to life as our centers transform into bakeries, grocery stores, and community helper stations—inviting rich role-play that sparks imagination and deepens language use. In the spring, our gardening program gives children the chance to plant, water, and observe the natural world, encouraging Spanish conversations about growth, change, and nature. As their vocabulary grows, so do their social skills, with meaningful peer interactions woven into every part of the day.
